Internal frustration mounts as DNC appears 'Hogg tied' by rising party firebrand.

"Half of the harm that is done in this world is due to people who want to feel important.
They don't mean to do harm. But the harm does not interest them."
-- T. S. Eliot

On May 9th, a 25-year-old, white, heterosexual, privileged Harvard graduate, son of a former FBI agent, was a guest on HBO’s “Real Time with Bill Maher.” During his appearance, the individual asserted that Democrats need to reconnect with “young men” who just want to "get laid and have fun" without worrying about "walking on eggshells."
"Young people should be able to focus on what young people should be focused on, which is how to get laid and how to go and have fun," he said.
While the individual certainly sounded like the misogynistic grifter type synonymous with the MAGA movement, it was, in fact, David Hogg, Vice Chairman of the Democratic National Committee.

Over the last month, some Democrats have rushed to Hogg’s defense as he faces a possible ouster from the DNC. Smitten by his narcissistic charm, “woke” women who once pioneered the so-called “MeToo” movement now find themselves failing their own litmus test by flocking to Hogg’s defense. (Side note: A few weeks ago, I wrote a commentary wherein I pointed out Pope Leo XIV’s alleged history of covering for sexual predators in the Catholic Church. I received a surprising number of messages from the same women who are aligning with Hogg. A few of them told me they were “victims of sexual assault.” All of them stated that I needed to “give the pope a pass because he stands against MAGA.” As the victim of sexual assault by a Catholic priest, I won’t be giving the pontiff “a pass.”)

Hogg, the self-proclaimed ‘politically toxic’ activist, has been a very vocal supporter of many of the hot-button social causes that resulted in devastating losses for the Democrats last autumn. In April, the party’s “rising star” who gained fame in the aftermath of the tragic Parkland High School Shooting (though he ironically supports defunding law enforcement), vowed that his Leaders We Deserve PAC would dump $20 million into primary campaigns for younger candidates against “older Democrats.” This was thought to have led some members of the party to call for his removal from DNC leadership. It wasn’t long before Hogg took to the airwaves in a charm campaign aimed at painting himself as a victim of “the establishment.”
But DNC Vice Chair Malcolm Kenyatta says that’s not exactly the case. According to an interview with The Advocate, Kenyatta says he’s had enough of the “telenovela” within his party.

“I think the average person has little to no interest in internal party bullsh_t,” Kenyatta said. “But if we are going to have a conversation about internal party bullsh_t, we need to at least tell the truth about what’s happening and not allow one individual to hijack the conversation to push a narrative about himself that’s completely divorced from the facts.”
“That individual,” Kenyatta says, “is David Hogg.”
Kenyatta, like others in the DNC, suggests that discussions concerning Hogg’s “removal” began in February after some members spotted a potential error in the race that led to his election as vice chair.
"[Hogg] has been allowed to flood the zone with misinformation about how this is going on and painting himself as the victim," Kenyatta said.

Kirsti Holland, who served as “campaign manager” for Kalyn Free, an Oklahoma Democrat who was one of the candidates in the race for DNC Vice Chair, seems to echo Kenyatta’s sentiments. In a social media post, Holland wrote:
“Here’s what actually went down at the DNC elections: On the 3rd VC ballot, 5 people were running for 2 VC positions - 2 men & 3 women. One of those seats had to go to a man. The other could be any gender. But the ballot instructions? Chaotic. The staff decisions on how to count them? Completely unfair. … As for David Hogg, I’m just going to say this: On the morning of February 2nd, I stood in a hotel lobby explaining to David that the ‘math didn’t math’ on his win the night before. He always knew. He didn’t speak up.”

Misinformation campaigns? Blaming “the establishment?” Potential election interference? Again, Mr. Hogg sounds more like a corrupt MAGA politician than a rising star among the Democrats.
Readers have told me that I’m a “political Nostradamus” since every prediction I’ve made in my commentaries over the last year have come to fruition. While I don’t consider myself a soothsayer, one thing is clear when I gaze into my crystal ball: David Hogg will either self-implode, or one day rise to become the left’s version of Donald Trump.
